Location

The Isles of Scilly lie just off the coast of Cornwall. St Mary's is the largest of the islands with a population of 1800.

Transport to and from the islands:

By ship from Penzance

The Scillonian passenger ferry service has been the Islands’ lifeline for almost a century. Since 1977, the Scillonian III has carried over four million passengers safely to and from the mainland. The crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s takes around 2hrs and 45 minutes, and gives you a unique perspective of some of Cornwall’s most iconic coastline.
Extract from the Isles of Scilly Travel website which has full details of travel options for getting to Scilly.

By air from Lands End, Newquay or Exeter

All year round, Skybus is the fastest way to and from the Isles of Scilly. The journey takes just 15 minutes from Land’s End to St. Mary’s, 30 minutes from Newquay Airport, and from Exeter it’s an hour. Check out the Isles of Scilly Travel website for further information on flying to Scilly.

The new Isles of Scillyhelicopter service started service in May 2018 and will operate year-round, with up to 8 flights a day, six days a week.
