Things to do on Scilly:

Strand House is an easy 8 minute walk to the Quay for all boating trips. There is plenty to see and do on Scilly, including sailing, bus tours, walking tours and bike hire.
Or simply spend your days relaxing on a beach.

Day Trips to the "off-islands"

St Mary's Boatman Association run regular services to all the "off islands" during the season.
Other independent boat services are available for private hire, scenic and wildlife trips.

Eating Out

Hugh Town is the centre for great eating out on Scilly. Choose between three pubs offering traditional fare or many independent restaurants, quality hotels and cafés for a wide choice of cuisine.

Groceries can be bought at the local Co-Op, just two minutes away. There is also a deli and a butcher nearby.

Beaches

Strand House has two beaches within easy reach. There is a private entrance onto Town Beach or the main Hugh Town bathing beach, Porthcressa is a three minute stroll away.
St Mary's has other fine beaches, Bar Point and Pelistry in particular.
All the "off-islands" have great bathing beaches, often semi-deserted and with fine white sand.

Horse Riding

St Mary's Riding Centre
Set in peaceful surroundings, St Mary's Riding Centre is just minutes away from Pelistry beach and has easy access to dozens of coastal bridleways, country lanes and quiet farm tracks - quote from the St Mary's Riding Centre website.

Boating

Boat, Sail Board, Paddle Board and Kayak hire are all available from Porthmellon Business Park. There are lots of boat trips available to visit nearby inhabited and uninhabited islands. Or why not go for a wildlife rib ride with Island Sea Safaris?

Gig Racing - the traditional Scillonian sport

Evening gig racing takes place each Wednesday and Friday and can be viewed from accompanying boats or from the quayside.

Walking & Cycling

There are miles of beautiful uncrowded footpaths and nature trails and you are never far from a sea view or a tea room!
